Environmental Licences
All Delta Electricity facilities must comply with the environmental protection legislation in NSW. Each power station holds licences under the Protection on the Environment Operations Act 1997. Delta's licence specifies the terms and conditions under which the site can operate detailing the limits on emissions deemed polluting to the atmosphere and the lakes for all designated discharge points.
The licence also outlines a monitoring regime for specific substances at each licence monitoring point.
It also deems excessive noise and odour as pollutants, and Delta is required to keep a register of any complaint relating to noise, dust, odour or discharges into water.
The Protection of the Environment Operations Act 1997 was amended in 2012 and requires Delta to publish its monitoring data and Pollution Incident Response Management Plan (PIRMP).
The Vales Point Power Station Environmental Licence Protection Licence No 761 identifies what Delta Electricity is required to monitor and the levels tied to those emissions. Delta also has a Pollution Incident Response Management Plan for Vales Point.
