In 2019 Delta committed to fund the much needed refurbishment on the Starlight Express Room at the John Hunter Hospital.
Included in the refurbish project is;
- four new gaming stations;
- interactive entry;
- face painting station;
- media screen; and
- new technology for the control room.
The opening of the new facilities was planned for March 2020. Unfortunately, this has not been possible due to COVID-19 restrictions prohibiting non-essential events and visitors. When it is safe to do so, a new launch date will be scheduled.
In the meantime, Starlight are continuing to deliver their programs to sick kids both in and out of hospital:
